Biology ADJUNCT FACULTY MEMBER
PART -TIME
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Instructor will be responsible for teaching biology (anatomy and physiology) courses (face-to-face and/or online). Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner.? Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance.? Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour.? Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.? Grades and returns student work in a timely manner.? Uses gradebook in Moodle and ensures up-to-date grade entry. Advises students regarding their grades and progress in the course using AVISO software.? Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course.? Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction. Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in biology (anatomy and physiology) or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) is required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Community College teaching experience and delivering instruction using Moodle (Learning Management System) are preferred.
SKILLS:
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication.
Part-Time Faculty Hourly Rate - Based on master’s degree - $ 32.02/hour
